For the first time this year, a woman has been appointed to lead an Italian Shiatsu federation. This time, it is Francesca Bonsignori, who has just been elected president of Fisieo. She is taking the helm at a crucial moment in the history of Italian Shiatsu, as—thanks to the joint efforts of all the federations through “Professione Shiatsu”—things are moving in the right direction, particularly in terms of relations with the authorities. But there is still a tremendous amount of work to be done.
Francesca Bonsignori is part of this new generation of leaders in the world of Shiatsu, and more and more women are finally reaching this level of responsibility, as is already the case in France (Fanny Roque for the FFST), Germany (Anna Arndt for GSD), Portugal (Fernanda Sousa-Tavares for APAJap), Australia (Belinda McIntosh for STAA), and Europe (Susanna Castellani for ESF).
